Museum of World Explorations
Located in the heights of Suquet, 1 km from the hotel, the Musée de la Castre is housed in the former citadel of the abbots of Lérins.
You will find exhibitions of Egyptian, Phoenician, Greek and Roman antiquities as well as paintings by local artists retracing the history of Cannes and a collection of musical instruments from around the world.
From there, you can admire the incredible panorama of the different districts of the city up to the Lerins islands.
Malmaison Art Center
Located on the Boulevard de la Croisette, the Malmaison was converted into a museum space in 1983 and renovated in 1993.
The garden level now hosts two major exhibitions per year, regularly featuring renowned painters such as Matisse, Ozenfant and Picasso (for whom the Côte d’Azur was a source of inspiration), as well as internationally acclaimed artists of the 20th and 21st centuries such as Miro, Masson, César and the Chinese painter Chu Teh-Chun.These prestigious and contemporary collections are enhanced by the intimate character of the place and its charmingly proportioned salons.
Underwater Ecomuseum of Cannes by Jason Decaires Taylor
New in Cannes
The first underwater ecomuseum in France and the Mediterranean
Immersed at a distance ranging from 84 to 132 meters from the shore and a depth of 3 to 5 meters, the sculptures are accessible to the greatest number of divers equipped simply with a mask and snorkel.
Free access and sanctuary by a ban on anchoring vessels.
The theme of the masks, chosen by the artist in collaboration with the City of Cannes, is an echo to the history and cultural heritage of the city in reference to the famous “Iron Mask”, famous prisoner locked up in the state prison of the island Sainte-Marguerite from 1687 to 1698.
